The Magnitude Of Love

There is a whisper in my soul

Like the sweet stirrings

Of an untamed melody

Swinging me back and forth

Tossing me to and fro

Screaming beyond the deep recesses

Of my heart

This is love

It is the untarnished caress

Of the palm tree’s breathe

Swaying in acquiescence

To the raging storm

The untapped beauty of the tired earth

Bathed in the glow

Of the burnished evening sun

It is the dreamer’s song that sets

The butterfly free from the trappings

Of its cocoon

It is the final web of mysteries

Spun around this earth, you and me
